If we lose one leg it’s really hard to walk. If we focus on everything we see and use in a symmetrical form. Symmetry is just not a concept it’s a part of our day to day life. From art to architecture symmetry is used almost everywhere. Symmetry is considered to be one of the important mathematical concepts which play an extremely important role in problem-solving technique. The most beautiful example of reflection symmetry is when you see the reflection of mountains and all the scenery in water as a reverted image. ![]() We can see the application of symmetry in almost everything. It can also be possible that the object or shape could have more than one line of symmetry and that can be any direction. So the line of symmetry divides the shape and object into two equal halves and both look exactly the copy of each other. Reflection symmetry is often known as line symmetry or mirror symmetry, in the event of taking an image and drawing a line through it and getting a pair of mirror images, and that’s what is called reflection symmetry. ![]() When we hear the word symmetry we get a sudden click of a word proportion and balance. Let's take a perfect example of our planet earth having a shape of a circle. Mirror symmetry is another name for reflection symmetry, it is called mirror-image symmetry.Isn’t it strange how nature loves symmetry? Everything in nature seems to have a symmetric shape.Reflection can be easily seen in a mirror or the river or a place filled with water.Based on the shape & structure of the figure, it can have one, two, or more than that lines of symmetry. All the butterflies, starfishes, leaves of the plants & all flowers are symmetrical because they can be easily divided into two identical parts of the same size.Animals, plants are created in perfect symmetry., as we can see that nature has a strong propensity towards symmetry.Art, design creations, architecture., textile technology, Kolams, Rangoli, Geometrical reasoning, etc are an example of symmetrical shapes. When things are in symmetrical shape it is easy to calculate & understand them. While designing a building symmetry is also used. We know that each side is a mirror image of the other one. We don’t need to measure both the left & right sides of everything. It is not possible to customize everything as per our choice but symmetry does the work. Symmetry helps make things understandable by creating a sense of order & control. If we lose one hand or leg or eyes we can’t do symmetric properly with a single hand, leg, or eye. Symmetry is an essential part of our daily life because if you look around yourself you will find so many things in a symmetrical form. Conversely, an equilateral triangle has three lines of symmetry. But some triangles don’t have any lines of symmetry. It is also called the axis of symmetry.Ī triangle can have 1,2 or can also have more than that lines of symmetry. Each of the images is the mirror image of the other half. The line of symmetry is the line that divided the figure identically between two parts of the same size. ![]()
